A world premiere production

The Freaks Club tells the story of Anna, a girl with fish-scale skin who travels to a remote island community in search of a cure, humorously bonding with other "freaks" in the process - blink Cookie, emotionally damaged Jake, and incurable geek Skunk.  After a radical treatment, Anna transforms from 'fish' to 'dish' but her dream-come-true turns into a nightmare.  At the risk of destroying everything she loves, Anna must discover a way back to her own true face.

Stories and Reviews

Bully For Them:  Off Beat with Ray Routhier  |  Portland Press Herald

"Upbeat and heartfelt...the high school students of this story are immensely engaging and well-drawn...together they make beautiful music, particularly in the fun and sharply written title song...the characters and their quirks lovingly drawn by the cast, are both entertaining and affecting enough to carry us through to Anna’s final,  inevitable realization about living in her own skin.”  |  Portland Phoenix

"A world inhabited by unique, loveable, yet ordinary everymans springs to life...the show has a professional, polished feel...The cast does a fine job singing this fun score and the show offers many laughs alongside darker issues in our lives.  As with any good musical, the audience leaves with optimism and a song in the heart.”  |  Portland Daily Sun

"We LOVED The Freaks Club and when the word gets out to the theater world it will be performed across the nation since you have written and produced a Winner!!!"  |  Bob & Muriel McGuire
